Intrauterine insemination (IUI) is a simple, low-intervention fertility treatment that gently supports your chances of pregnancy by placing prepared sperm directly into the uterus. For a full breakdown of how the treatment works and what to expect, visit our IUI treatment page.
Understanding IUI cycle fees
Comparing IUI costs in London clinics can be confusing, especially when each one includes – or excludes – different elements. At Concept, our philosophy is to keep things simple. We don’t routinely recommend add-ons because many provide little benefit, or have no proven impact on your chances of success.
We completely understand why patients, particularly those who’ve had a disappointing experience elsewhere, want to explore every possible option – but the best next step is often another straightforward cycle guided by clear evidence and realistic expectations. This approach helps us give you an accurate, honest picture of what your IUI cycle will cost.

What is the definition of a “cycle”?
A cycle runs from “day 1,” the first day of menstruation, through to the day of insemination. It is important to know this when looking at costs, because anything outside a cycle is usually charged as an additional item.
What to expect on the day
When you arrive at the clinic, our team will check you in and guide you through the final steps before your procedure. The insemination itself is a quick and straightforward process, usually taking around 10–15 minutes. After a short rest, you’ll be able to head home and continue your day as normal.
After your IUI
Around two weeks after your insemination, you’ll take your bHCG test to confirm whether the cycle has been successful. During this waiting period, mild cramping, bloating, or spotting can be completely normal, so try not to worry.
If anything feels out of the ordinary or you’re unsure about your symptoms, we’re here to help – just give us a call.
Who can benefit from IUI treatment?
IUI can be a suitable option for people with unexplained infertility, mild male-factor infertility, or those who are using donor sperm, including single women and female couples. It offers a gentle, lower-intervention approach that may help improve the chances of conception. You can read more about who IUI is recommended for on our treatment page.
IUI with donor sperm
For patients using donor sperm, we offer fully screened and accredited donor options, along with all required support to ensure you feel informed throughout the process. Donor sperm typically incurs additional fees, storage, administration costs, and the HFEA donor surcharge. You can learn more about donor programmes and what to expect on our donor information page
