Ouma Pillay is a consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist at St Georges University hospital NHS Foundation trust. She is the lead for recurrent miscarriage and cervical tracking in pregnancy. She obtained the MB ChB in 1996 from Sheffield University in Yorkshire and completed her basic surgical, Obstetrics and Gynaecological training there before moving to London. She obtained an MD from University College London after undertaking research in the field of reproductive endocrinology for three years.
Ouma’s interests in gynaecology are advanced ultrasound, fertility treatment investigations and treatment, recurrent miscarriage. She is also a benign complex Gynaecological surgeon and a member of the Myoma team. In Obstetrics, her interests are prematurity and perinatal loss. She is an avid trainer of junior doctors and medical students. She is a member of the European society for Human Fertility and Reproduction (ESHRE) and the European society of Gynaecological Endoscopy (ESGE) as well as the International Society for the Fallopian Tube and reproductive surgery (ISRSFT).
Ouma speaks English and French fluently and in her spare time plays the cello.
