Kamal Ojha is a Consultant Gynaecologist and Honorary Senior lecturer at St George’s Hospital, UK where he was also, until early 2016, the Gynaecology Care Group Lead. He qualified in Kolkata and obtained specialist qualifications in obstetrics and gynaecology from the famed Benares Hindu University. A sponsorship from the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists brought him to the UK in 1994 where he completed his specialty training. He became a member of the Royal College in 1995 and in 1998 moved to London as a research fellow at St George’s to pursue his passion in the field of subfertility and ultrasound.
Kamal’s special interests are in fertility treatment, oocyte donation and advanced ultrasound. He has published extensively in national and international journals as well as authoring chapters in textbooks. He maintains a keen interest in teaching medical students and junior doctors and has completed a successful tenure as college tutor. Kamal was a founder member of the International Society for the Fallopian Tube and Reproductive Surgery (ISFT-RS) and has been a member of the executive since its inception. He is an active member of the European Society for Human Fertility and Reproduction (ESHRE), the International Society of Ultrasound in Obstetrics & Gynaecology (ISUOG) and the British Fertility Society (BFS).
Kamal is the Medical Director of Concept Fertility.
Dr Harleen Kaur qualified from medical college in 2000. She post graduated in Obstetrics & Gynaecology and received her MD in 2003. She started working in the field of Obstetrics & Gynaecology and obtained her membership of the Royal College of Obstetricians & Gynaecologists in 2005.
Dr Kaur’s special interests are in the field of Reproductive Medicine and in 2006 she joined the Assisted Conception Unit at Queen Mary’s Hospital, Roehampton (later Kingston Hospital) where she stayed for 6 years and gained extensive experience in the management of patients suffering from infertility, and expertise in Assisted Conception treatments. She then gained further experience working in the IVF unit at Chelsea & Westminster Hospital and the CREATE Fertility Clinic. She is well versed in all aspects of reproductive medicine and has special interest in the treatment of women with poor ovarian reserves and recurrent implantation failure.
Dr Kaur believes in medical treatment with compassion. She joined Concept Fertility as she believes in safe yet effective, individualised patient-centred and affordable fertility treatment.
Mr Grudzinskas, formerly Professor of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at St Bartholomew’s & The Royal London Hospital School of Medicine and Dentistry, and formerly Medical Director of The Bridge Fertility Gynaecology and Genetics Centre, with more than 20 years experience, is continuing his clinical and surgical activities as an independent practitioner at the Concept Fertility Clinic where he is also Chairman of our Medical Advisory Committee.
Dr Iammarrone graduated in 1994 and specialised in Obstetrics and Gynaecology. She spent her last year of specialisation in London, training in Reproductive Medicine at St. Bartholomew’s Hospital. In 2000 she worked as an Infertility Specialist in Bologna, Italy with Dr. Gianaroli, before returning to work in London as Senior Infertility Specialist at The Bridge Centre. In 2009 Dr Iammarrone was appointed as Medical Director at the Reproductive Medicine Centre of the European Hospital in Rome. Her primary interests are the diagnosis and treatment of infertility along with complementary infertility therapies, in particular nutrition.
Professor Martha Dirnfeld is the Clinical Professor at the Technion Faculty of Medicine, Haifa, Israel and the Head of Division of Reproductive Endocrinology and IVF at The Carmel Medical Centre. She is the President of the Israeli Fertility Association (IFA)
Professor Dirnfeld has worked at some of the leading IVF Centers in Europe. She was part of the pioneering IVF team at St Pierre hospital and the Free University in Belgium and was General Manager of one of the largest London-based IVF centers for two years. More than 4000 babies have been born as a direct result of her IVF work and Oocyte Donation programs. She is world renowned in the field of human reproduction and has published more than 100 scientific papers and chapters in books and is often Invited Speaker at international conferences. Her busy schedule no longer allows her sufficient time to be able to treat patients in Britain but she visits London on a regular basis and is on our advisory panel.
Sheila Radhakrishnan MD FRCOG FFSRH MIPM
Sheila is a Consultant in Gynaecology at the Royal Free Hospital London and also leads Psychosexual Services in the Reproductive Medicine Unit of University College Hospital London.
After obtaining postgraduate qualifications from the University of Calcutta, Sheila moved to the UK and obtained memberships of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists, Faculty of Sexual and Reproductive Health and the Institute of Psychosexual Medicine. She is currently editor of the Journal of the Institute of Psychosexual Medicine and a Council Member of IPM. She has special interest in managing the fertility needs of women living with HIV. She has published in national and international journals and has authored chapters in textbooks and has been the invited speaker to many national and international meetings.
Dedicated and highly-skilled, Maria has been a top-level embryologist for many years. Originally from Spain, Maria worked at senior levels at various centres there and her experience includes setting up and leading new labs in Alicante and Palma de Mallorca. She moved to London in 2008 and worked in large NHS Fertility Units before being called upon to set up and join a new private IVF lab in the City.
Maria was the ideal person to join us here at Concept, to set up our new laboratory and lead our embryology department. With high IVF success rates throughout her career and nearly 50 publications/presentations to her name, Maria gives what a good IVF centre needs – absolute and knowledgeable dedication to the embryos in her laboratory.
Ana is a biology graduate from the University of Madrid and gained an MSc in Human Reproduction from Carlos III University in 2005, including practical training at IVI. She then worked at a busy fertility clinic in Madrid where she rose to the position of senior embryologist before she joined us early in 2016. She is making a great contribution to our team.
Pedro obtained his Masters degree in the Biotechnology of Human Reproduction in Spain before further embryology training in Portugal’s Malo Clinic and IVI in Lisbon. He has now joined us in London to further develop his career.
Katharine Hagues, Nurse Manager
Katharine has been a nurse for over 20 years. She spent her first 2 years in the NHS Gynaecology and Surgical wards before being selected by the world-famous Professor Ian Craft for specialist training in fertility. After 5 years at his fertility centre, during which time she rose to the position of nurse-manager, Katharine felt it was time for a change and moved to be the nurse manager at London’s largest private fertility centre. Eight years on, we headhunted Kath to join us at Concept Fertility.
Kath is a dedicated nurse who still loves being “hands-on” with patients and has a wealth of experience to offer them and the rest of our team.
Oluyemisi “Yemi” Adegbile, Clinic Lead Nurse / Senior Fertility Nurse
With almost 20 years experience in the assisted conception units at Barts and Guys hospitals in London, Yemi brings a wealth of experience with her to her role at Concept as our Clinic Lead Nurse.
Angela Thompson, Fertility Nurse
An NHS staff nurse in the midlands before specialising in fertility, Angela has worked in several private fertility centres both in the midlands and in London. We are delighted to have tempted Angela back down to London to join our team.
Melissa always has a smile on her face, helping our doctors and nurses and assisting our patients. She has become something of an expert in fertility now and is developing her nursing skills and qualifications with the team at Concept.
Sarah Ryan, Health Care Assistant
Sarah qualified as a nurse in Australia but decided to come to Europe to see a bit of the world before she settles down to her career back in Australia. We are delighted that she has come over to live here in London and is working with us as a Health Care Assistant.
Marina Franchi, Health Care Assistant
Marina is a newly qualified midwife from Italy, bringing with her sun and pasta! We are delighted she has joined our team.
Pip started his career at Cardiff psychiatric hospital in 1983 specialising in occupational therapy and support counselling. He moved to infertility counselling at St. Bartholomew’s and White Chapel NHS Hospitals, London in 1993 and has worked as an independent counsellor to private fertility clinics in London since 1998.
As well as offering general and implications counselling to our patients, Pip finds time to be the Chief Executive of MENSFE, the specialist Men’s Fertility Forum, the past Chair of the European Infertility Alliance and of the International Consumer Society for Infertility, and member of the European Patient Forum and the European Forum for Good Clinical Practice.
Pip’s kind and holistic approach, together with his wealth of experience, eases the path for many of our patients undergoing fertility treatment.
Joanna was one of the first to join us at Concept and quickly earned promotion to become manager of her department. She had previously worked in two large London fertility clinics managing administration and liaison. Joanna has many years of experience in dealing with all aspects of clinic administration and patient support. She works closely with the nursing team to ensure the smooth running of patient treatments.
Joanna is supported by her team members Kirsty and Zdenek.
